Customers using MS Windows 2000 SP4 (or who are planning to upgrade to SP4).

At the release of Service Pack 4 for Windows 2000 Coteng discovered that a bug was introduced in this SP which, in some configurations, prevented certain modules of Femail 2000 from working correctly. Known issues introduced by this bug in SP4 were:

  • The FemailŪ2000 Client versions prior to 3.1.4.52
Symptom: Attachment files will be truncated when sent to the FemailŪ2000 Server.
  • The FemailŪ2000 Setup application
Symptom: Files extracted from archive files can get truncated.

Coteng worked closely together with Microsoft to assist them in providing a patch for this problem. As a result of which a Hotfix has been created by Microsoft.
A knowledge base article with further details regarding this bug and information on how to obtain the Hotfix is available at the Microsoft Web site. This article is published as "KB 826482 File may not be completely written across network with Windows 2000 SP4"
